National Volunteer Week

During National Volunteer Week, we want to take the opportunity to recognize our volunteers – we know we couldn’t do what we do without them!
 
At WRCF, our dedicated volunteers bring skills, expertise and insights to help us support people and organizations across Waterloo Region on a daily basis. Together, we are truly building sustainable, equitable and thriving communities.

Kitchener opens first-of-its-kind social entrepreneurship hub in Downtown Kitchener: the SDG Idea Factory

$900,000 awarded through Investment Readiness Program; $440,000 in current round

In 2019, Community Foundations of Canada, alongside the Government of Canada and several partner organizations, announced the Investment Readiness Program (IRP), a program that helps social purpose organizations scale up their social enterprises to prepare to accept investments. As a Regional Partner for IRP, WRCF led the distribution of funding through the Central South-Western Ontario Region HUB.

Kindred’s Affordable Housing GIC Already Making an Impact!

Love Your Neighbour Communities (LYNC) is an organization in Wilmot Township committed to creating beautiful spaces where intergenerational communities will thrive. The group is starting with the New Hamburg Mill, which will be transformed into the Mill Block Community, a mixed-income, intergenerational community located in the heart of New Hamburg. Kindred Credit Union has partnered with LYNC by providing a mortgage as part of their Affordable Housing GICs and Loans to support this project.
