Child Witness Centre supports local young victims and witnesses through the criminal justice system – one of the most difficult times of their lives. This non-profit organization has been faithfully doing this tough but vital work in our community since 1981.

Giving sustainability to Child Witness Centre has been made easier with the foresight and generosity of Jim Balsillie and Heidi Henschel. Through their generous giving, this endowment fund continues to pay an annual guaranteed revenue.

With every $1,000 invested in our endowment fund, a session of support is provided each year for a deserving child. It has an immediate and long-term impact for the kids who receive this critical support when they need it. Their trauma is reduced, and their future is brighter. As one past client shared years later, “I am grateful for being supported through a very difficult time in my life so that I could move forward.”

The vision for this endowment fund is to have sustainable funding in place so Child Witness Centre’s dedicated team of professionals can focus their time and energy on serving the young victims who desperately need their services.
