2025 Community Photo Submission

Waterloo Region Community Foundation (WRCF) would like to include more local photos in materials and reports we develop. So, we are reaching out to folks who reside in Waterloo Region to submit images that could potentially be used.

In 2025, WRCF is seeking images that showcase social infrastructure across Waterloo Region. WRCF defines social infrastructure as the system of organizations, spaces, and experiences that enable people to connect with each other, the bridges necessary to build trust and civic participation, to create a sense of belonging and wellbeing. It’s the system that enables sustainable widespread community development.

For the photos to be eligible for consideration, the image must be taken in a location within Waterloo Region.

Some examples of photos that showcase social infrastructure are:

  • Community members having a conversation in a local community space (park, coffee shop, walking trail, community centre, library, venue, etc.)

  • People gathered for a shared experience (local event, activity, club, festival, etc.)

  • Images that show connections between different groups of people (example: combined senior/youth programs)
