As we head into these final weeks of the year, it’s a natural time for people to consider if they are in a position to make charitable donations. If you are thinking of doing so before the end of the year for a 2022 tax receipt, here are some of the ways you can do that:
- CHEQUE - cheques, made payable to Waterloo Region Community Foundation (or WRCF) and a note in the memo indicating which fund you are donating to, can be mailed (envelope postmarked no later than December 31st) to: WRCF, 206-260 King St W, Kitchener, ON, N2G 1B6
- ONLINE – online donations can be made here via Credit Card/PayPal/Google Pay, and just select the specific fund you want to support from the alphabetized drop-down menu.
- PHONE – credit card donations can be made over the phone (before December 23rd) by phoning Dan at 226-988-8673 or Mackenzie at 519-725-1806 x 207.
- E-TRANSFER – if you want to make an e-transfer donation directly from your bank account, please email dan@wrcf.ca to get the necessary information.
- SECURITIES – if you want to donate appreciated securities to avoid having to pay capital gains taxes, click here to access our form. You’ll want to initiate the donation with your broker no later than December 10th to avoid any holiday processing delays.
